Comfrey, Bocking 14

Symphytum x uplandicum

Garden Care

The premier garden ally, Comfrey is an herbaceous perennial with a deep tap root.  In permaculture they refer to her as dynamic accumulator in permaculture, which means she mines nutrients and minerals from deep underground and brings them to her leaves, which can then be chopped and dropped to feed other plants in the garden.  She grows best in moist, rich soil but will do okay in with less.  Full sun to part shade  Flowering to 3’, plant her all over the garden and use her as a green mulch and plant food.  Want more worms in your garden, feed your soil Comfrey.
